  1. Sounds like a wonderful trip. I guess the oceans are all connected somewhere. Don't step on the jellyfish!
    Have a great Friday!

  4. Well, according to my 13 year old just top of his head: they float with the current. They lay eggs on the bottom of the ocean then slowly float to the top and then they die so they go wherever current takes them.

There you have it,lol. Now I have to go find out if he was just pulling my leg. It's hard to live with boy genius sometimes.

  6. I love jellyfish. I think it depends on the type of jellyfish? Some have those big sacs up top with which they "propel" themselves, but some can only float with the current?

Congrats on the new blog! Really looking forward to reading more. Enjoy your trip!

  9. Love your blog! I'm a new follower here and on Networked Blogs.

To answer your question, I would think they go with the ocean's current or do a horizontal scoot.

  11. I would have to say too, that they just float with the current?

  12. I have to agree with the others, I think they just float along with the currents. It makes me think of Finding Nemo when the turtles are riding the East Australian Current kind of like their own personal subway!

Love this new blog too! Great pictures!

  14. Following back from FF. Such a cool idea for a blog! And I'm just starting to get into the 21st century and learning how to text! :)

OK I'm a nerd so I looked it up (aka googled it... and I didn't come up with much so I will make up a silly answer... Jellyfish start life in berryfarms or fruit tree groves, their "tadpole stage" is actually jam, the jelly/jam that is left in the bottom of the jar is then thrown away or sent to a recycle company that washes out the remaining jam and pours this nontoxic water into oceans and streams, soon the jelly turns into fish (aka jellyfish) and voila! We have jellyfish all over the world. Not sure why they sting... maybe a natural defense system? LOL

OK, I must really need a nap. Happy FF and Aloha Friday and UBP 2010!! yahooo!
